A Picnic!

The other day, I was talking to Kai (the four-year old boy) and he said, "Kiko, do you know what's a picnic?" "What's a picnic, Kai?" I asked. "A picnic is where you get food and a blanket and you put the blanket on a hill and you eat on a hill!" he excitedly answered. So I said, "Well, we need to go on a picnic sometime then, huh?" "Yeah!"

The weather has been so beautiful for the past few days. So when I picked up Kai and Kona from school yesterday, I decided to surprise them with a picnic. Phylicia got home as I was preparing the picnic, so I asked if she'd like to join us. She said yes of course. 2 Nannies! Whoohoo! So Phylicia, Kai, Kona, and I went to a surprise hill for a picnic. Kai was so excited! I thought I'd share some of the pictures I'd taken on my phone of our somewhat impromptu picnic.

I'm Phylicia. "Obviously" as Kiko would say! I love reading, talking, writing, playing, cooking, baking, doing arts and crafts, watching movies, spending time with friends, and kids! How did I come to be a nanny you ask? I'll tell you! I'm 24 years old and have lived here, in Ohio, my whole life! I graduated from Ashland University in 2010 with my degree in Social Work. Here's the thing about Social Work... You can work with a lot of different types of populations. Elderly, homeless, children, people in different countries, patients, people in rural, areas, students, families, anyone! You can really do anything. The only thing I really wanted to do was work with children, specifically adoption. But when i graduated there weren't a ton of jobs working with kids... in adoption...placing them with families. So, I saw an ad online for this family looking for a nanny for 3 kids all under 4 (4,2,9 months at the time). I thought, ''hmm.. maybe I'll do that for a few months until i find a Social Work job''. Well, hello two years later! Still here with the kids and I love it. :) I'm attached to these crazy babies and I don't think I could leave if I wanted to. I think I've acquired to some cool knowledge while working here.I have also had a lot of fun opportunities. Can't wait to share them with you all!

Hey guys! It's me, Kiko. Obviously. I am just a silly little kid trapped inside a 22-year-old girl's body. I love to have fun and live life. I believe in making the most of any circumstance. Some of the ways I accomplish my mission of happiness is by drawing, photographing, filming, blogging, vlogging, YouTubing, singing, playing my guitar, reading, watching movies/TV, cooking/baking, sleeping, exercising, eating, hanging out with friends and family, going to church, playing with the children I live with, and a whole lot more. I'm from Hawai'i. Born and bred. The day after I graduated high school, I started working for a preschool, just for a summer job. But I loved it so much that my summer job turned into two years. (Where I'd probably still be had I not moved to my current residence.) I babysat for many of the families at this preschool. But the next thing I know, I moving across the country with one of them to be their Au Pair (live-in nanny basically.) I love these three beautiful children so much. Obviously. I left HAWAII to move to OHIO. But all joking aside, I truly am loving it here. It's superduper fun. The kids make me smile each day and this whole experience is helping me to become a better person.
